Quickly becoming one of our favourite traditions, last month start-ups in the Sport Tech Hub community ran a virtual session with 70 Sport Business students from Loughborough University London (LuL). In the session, five of our most promising community members pitched their product to LuL students who then went on to quiz, question and grill the start-ups on their business model and proposition.
This year, Sport Tech Hub had an array of different propositions pitched to the audience with everything from match making software through to active travel and a fintech SportsTech hybrid product on display.
Featured start-ups included:
Longevity Card – the new way to manage your money and lead a healthy lifestyle in one app. They are making mobile banking experience easier and safer for people of all ages by developing new financial products designed for users who are planning to live extra-long lives and want to remain high functioning and financially stable throughout.
Active Things – an active travel assistant making it easier to find bike parking, showers and active routes.
BUA FIT – the outdoor fitness app that will help you find the perfect outdoor fitness classes for you in London and beyond.
Football Matcher – brings the world of local casual and competitive football to you. Find and Organise friendlies, kickarounds and team games and start to collect those all-important stats.
TrainAsOne – the revolutionary multi-award-winning AI-powered training app that constantly adjusts your training plan according to you, your data and your goals.
Following the pitches, the start-ups asked the students for feedback, marketing ideas and many offered free trials for their products.
Building on the success of the pitching event, Sport Tech Hub alumni RED Together ran a session the following week with the students.
As we move into 2021, we look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with LuL via different events and initiatives.
