We wanted to kick 2021 off with a bang and how better than onboarding a new startup to the Sport Tech Hub innovation programme. With support commencing on January 11th, Optimi have become the latest venture to join the Sport Tech Hub and the third startup to be part of the new, bespoke innovation offering.
Optimi combines cutting edge science and technology to make world-class exercise therapy accessible to everyone. Their initial focus is on the treatment of muscle and joint conditions, but their ultimate goal is on the prevention of these conditions and the associated co-morbidities. Setting them apart from other solutions on the market is their combination of advanced digital therapeutics, access to top clinicians and vibrant community support groups in one platform.
The product is looking to overcome major barriers for people with MSK conditions. Optimi seeks to make support more accessible, engaging, and supportive by tapping into behavioural change techniques to ensure users gain the maximum benefit from the platform. With MSK conditions affecting more than 2 billion people across the planet, the need for a scalable, rehabilitation solution has never been stronger.
Although Optimi has only been in operation for shortly over a year, entrepreneur Piers Shotter (Founder and CEO) has been able to put together a formidable team to launch the platform and enable its early growth. Joining Piers at the helm is the Head of Medical Performance for the New South Wales Waratahs – Shane Kertanegara (Chief Clinical Officer) and Abby Seneor (CTO) a former Artificial intelligence and Augmented reality Engineer from Microsoft.
Piers Shotter Founder and CEO of Optimi said “We’re delighted to join Sport Tech Hub’s Innovation programme and really looking forward to contributing to the community. We feel our visions are very much aligned and believe that likeminded partnerships are essential to improving health at a population level. “
Alex Zurita, Head of Sport Tech Hub said “Optimi is a great addition to the Sport Tech Hub program. We’re always looking for fantastic products and teams who we believe can lead the way in supporting people to live more active lives. Optimi Health fits this bill perfectly. In the coming months, we cannot wait to support them and open doors to potential customers to test and pilot their product. “
Optimi is currently looking to test the knee rehabilitation element of their cutting-edge product on different audiences. If your organisation/group is interesting in being involved please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
